Getting away from it all in Dimmingsdale

In 2016, Allenton Big Local again awarded Community Chest funding to Merrill PTFA to support a residential weekend for 20 children from Allenton. The trip was organised by Merrill PTFA to Dimmingsdale Youth Hostel in the Staffordshire Moorland.

Being out in the countryside and learning about the environment was a new experience for many of the children on the trip. They hiked, explored caves and took part in team games, challenges and activities.

We were very pleased to hear that the children had such a great time and glad that the Community Chest fund was able to make the trip possible for 20 children from Allenton.
