Join the Work Club

Letters spelling the word job laid on a keyboardIf you’re a job seeker living in the Allenton area, you can now get extra help and support with your job search by joining the Work Club.

The club, which is supported by Allenton Big Local and delivered by the Derby Adult Learning Service, runs on Mondays (except bank holidays) between 10am to 12.30pm and 1pm to 3.30pm at the Allen Park Centre on Allen Street, next to Allenton Library.

The club provides free access to computers and the internet, which you can use to search and apply for jobs online or to log on to the Universal Jobmatch service. You will also receive support to help you create a CV, improve your interview techniques, and develop your presentation skills.

The club also provides opportunities to complete a variety of qualification courses that will teach you new skills that could increase your chances of getting a job.

If you’re interested in joining the Work Club, you don’t need to book a place. All you have to do is drop in to the Allen Park Centre on Allen Street in Allenton any time between 10am and 12.30pm or 1pm to 3.30pm any Monday (except bank holidays).
